Why Licenders Is Your #1 Choice For Killing Head Lice

Head lice are parasites that live on blood. They are not body lice that thrive in dirty conditions. On the contrary, more often than not, they like a clean, well-groomed head. They do not carry or spread disease. They do not live on pets - neither dogs nor cats. They do spread very easily from person to person through contact and are highly contagious. Therefore, you must treat them as soon as possible. The following information may be helpful in eliminating them:
Inspect everyone who has contact with the child, including parents, siblings, babysitters, and grandparents. If you clear the child of the bugs and someone else in the circle of contact has them, they can easily be transferred back. Pediculicides (lice killing agents) are available at the drug store. There are three types.Pyrethrin is the main ingredient in RID and A200, Permethrin is the ingredient in NIX at a 1% concentration. These two can be purchased over-the- counter. Two prescription medications are ELIMITE, which contains Permethrin at a 5% concentration and Lindane. Lindane is the medication that was called Kwell. Some pediatricians still prescribe this, but studies have shown that if used more than once or for a longer time than prescribed, it accumulates in the brain tissue resulting in quantities 3 times greater than in the blood. It has been related to Leukemia and has caused seizures. You can use a pediculicide (RID, A200, NIX or ELI MITE) to kill the live lice and then you must remove every nit. Nits will hatch 7-10 days after they are laid. Although they claim to, the insecticides do not always kill the eggs. Nits are the eggs of a live adult louse that has mated. This bug will lay 3-10 eggs per day for approximately one month. Nits are about the size of a sesame seed or smaller and range in color from opalescent white to light brown. They are glued to the hair shaft and can be located near the scalp or further up the shaft. You can differentiate them from dandruff by the ease with which they can be pulled. Dandruff will slide easily and flyaway if you blow on it. Another nit look alike is the DEC plug which is an epithelial cell that surrounds the hair shaft and can be produced after constant utilization of the pediculocidal shampoos. Because they are glued tightly to the hair, nits are difficult to remove. The most effective way to get the nits is to use your fingers. Grip the nit firmly between two fingers and steadily pull down the shaft of hair. If you have trouble getting it to release, use a drop of vinegar on your finger. The problem with all of these products, including the prescription ones is that lice have developed a resistance to all of them. If after treating with any of these you still see lice or nits, consult a professional removal service.
Care for the home is important, but you do not have to turn it upside down and vacuum everything fifteen times. Head lice are passed on in only two ways. Either a live bug crawls onto another person or onto an article of clothing and then to another person, or a hair with a nit is pulled off the head onto a brush, comb, or object of furniture and transferred to a person's head. Then it could possibly hatch on the new host. If you think about it, the probability of this occurring is low. It does point out the need to boil and not share brushes and combs. As parasites, lice need to feed on blood. If they do not feed for 12-24 hours, they will die. Therefore, if a live louse crawls off the head onto a pillow, it will die if it does not reattach to a head and start to feed. They can't survive on a carpet. couch. bed or a coat for longer than 24 hours. It is important to wash your linens after the initial treatment. Also, brushes, combs or other hair accessories should be boiled for five minutes. One common recommendation is to place all objects the child has contacted into plastic bags for two weeks. The reasoning behind this is that if a live nit is attached to a hair and that hair is on a stuffed animal or some other object, it could hatch and eventually find its way back onto a head. Rather than bind your home in plastic for two weeks, you can place objects that can tolerate the heat into a dryer on high for 30-45 minutes.
Removing nits is a tedious, thankless task creating tremendous stress on both the child and the parent. Utilizing LICENDERS helps to remove the inter-personal strain. We use non-toxic oils to kill or eliminate chemical resistant lice. If you do not have success with the over-the-counter remedies, or if you do not want to spend the endless hours removing nits, LICENDERS can be of great service.
