Head Lice Treatment And Prevention

Many people, even hundreds of thousands, struggle with head lice. Most people believe the myth that head lice is caused by dirtiness; however, this is not true. Body lice can even be found the cleanest children in day cares and schools and other public places.

Only a few of the many over the counter products for head lice treatment are actually effective. Before you begin head lice treatment you must find the right product for you. Almost every store will sell medicines for head lice removal.

Have the infected person remove all clothing from the waist up before you apply head lice treatment. Follow application instructions carefully. One application is usually enough but if you have long hair you may need two. Leave the medicine on your hair for the required length of time. You then rinse completely and pick out any nits. Follow all directions on the bottle. Put on clean clothes when you are finished.

For effective head lice treatment you will have to treat your entire house. Wash any clothing or bedding in the washing machine that was used recently in the home prior to treatment. This will ensure that any eggs attached to the fabrics will be washed away, avoiding another infestation.

"Body lice" are parasitic insects that live on the body and in the clothing or bedding of infested humans. It doesn't matter what race or nationality you are it affects all humans. Occasionally the insect will attach itself to body hair, however if you bathe regularly, and change into clean close this is unlikely.

The symptoms and signs of body lice is an itching rash. The infestation of lice for a long period can result in the discoloration and thickening near the upper thighs and groin. Lice information is provided by day care centers and schools to avoid these situations. These children's coats and hats are kept separately, and children during sports activities wear their own helmets so that lice do not spread to another child.
